class proposal for 2010

My proposal is to merge th 997 class into GT and have an NSR class. Class spec would be along the lines of:

factory standard cars only - no mods

example, angle winder king vs inline shark. Not sure how they compare as we need to get down to MR again - I have an angle and Nathan has inline

either stock tyres as fitted or mjks

thats it - sinmple smile

An NSR class, that would look funny with Moslers, Renault Clio, Ford GT and Porsche 917K in the same race.

If the 997 class gets ditched then the COT Nascars could be the box stock class as all the chassis on the COT cars are all the same just with different bodies.

Yes I do love speed! Wait til you get one of the 6 hour cars on track! You will love them too!

We took our Nascars down and they were crap on the Kingleman - slow and boring

997 Porches in the GT class will almost certainly result in a full field of Porches...

But still think it should go ahead.

Dump the Classics (i cant stand them IMHO) and bring in the NSR class in.

I'm going to add one more here,

for the LMP class open it up completely with no restrictions on drive train.

ie any motor, any gear set of the drivers choosing.

NSR good on a big track but not so good on the small track, if they were ran only at MR
i would vote for them, open LMP i would vote no, why you say, big can of worms there.
dump the classics no way i dont realy like them that much but i have three of them,
i would hate to dump them after only one season, they would sit on the shelf forever
if we didnt race them

How about an upgrade to the 60/70 LeMans class with the NSR, Slot it and Sloter.

And that would be the end for Fly the Slotit and Sloter will not come close to the NSR , would be great to use them but still a big disadvantage to the the other brands.

End up with a class of NSR's

Just remember speed is not everything. We want close racing at the end of the day.

Yes and 60/70's is good as is, If NSR had a bigger range of cars it would be a no brainer

Gref, are you back on the medication. any class we pick should have
1. wide variety of models hopefully period correct
2. produce close racing

we are no where near this with NSR yet.

Been a bit quiet here so lets get this going again.

Sideways into Slot it class, turn one upside down an it looks like a Slot it.

Bit of talk about LMP motor changing, what about restricted to 25k and motor must come from the same manufacturer.

Why restrict it, why not open up completely. Have one class where you can do the things we've all talked about. Change motors gearing etc.

I'm more than happy with the hurricane in my Avant Slot

I need a new motor in my Avant, what's the green one supposed to do, it's slower than my SCX with a Pro speed and only just faster than a Pro Turbo.

Where MJK tyres are allowed the tyre that MJK make should be the tyre used.
eg MJK fo Aussie V8's for V8's, MJK for Camaro/Mustang for Muscle cars (also fit on Torino, Revell/Monogram and Carrera) etc.

Mustang FR 500C into GT class, they race in the GT class in the Grand Am.

Thanks Rob but it doesn't help this year as I can't change motors and put a hurricane in as it is not allowed. The sprint motor would be fun to try at MR.

Checked Slot Shop and my car is listed as having a 25k motor but at 14.8 volts so obviously this drops to around 19k at 12 volts. Might have to buy another car, $90-100 for another car or $30 for just a motor, now that makes a lot of sense(sarcasm alert).
