again we need more options. either make the slot it class Group C or modern sports. i dont think we should allow the audi and nissan and mclaren to race against the older style cars. they are competely different.

Hi Guy's,

One of the biggest probs this year with the Slot-It's were some cars running a white end bell motor and others the orange end bell.
This was obvious especially down the straights on MR's Kingleman.
I agree with Nomad, Group C with Group C, modern with modern.

My 2c

NimROD

That doesn't solve the end bell problem though. The last couple of Slot its I have bought have the orange end bell so from where I am sitting it looks like this is the standard motor.

Just had a quick look at Armchair and Thunderbird and the majority of the Slot it cars available have the 21,500 orange end bell so maybe this should be the only motor allowed.

If we seperate the cars by motor, it will cause problems - expenses etc. The white endbell are faster on bigger tracks. but put em on a track like mine and theres no advantage.

So problems is if we seperate into Group C/modern etc and ban motors per class, it will mean some will have to buy new cars with motors to suit. frustrated.gif

Hi Guy's,

We have restrictions in other classes for 18K motors.
Depending which cars we have, we only have to replace the Motor pod and Motor, not the whole car.
Considering most have already purchased more than one slot-it you could easily swap the pods and motors between cars.
Some cars this year have already had the motors swapped, not allowed in the rules but has happened.
As mentioned earlier, all the new slot-it's have the orange end bell as standard including all the white kits.
Now the money issue, most (not all) but most of the V32 members buy so many cars it should not be an issue buying a couple of extra parts.

Well said Vlad, its this sort of discussion and insight that required you to be on the commitee.  I myself probably do not have the knowledge, to discuss the technical aspects of the classes.

Bit slow on the uptake here ( cos Slot Its are not a favourate class I have to admit)

let me get this right

for 2008 we said
Slot-It brand Box Stock cars with standard motor either 25k or 21.5k as factory fitted in model, In-line motor configuration Only

Slot Its came with white endbells first but now they come with orange endbells which are 21.5k. White is faster than orange or have I got that arse about.  I have Slot Its with both types of motors factory fitted - the only diffrence I can see is that the orange motors become smelly and blow up - furious

Whats the problem?
If as has been suggested the orange motor is now standard in all models my simple brain would say there would now be more orange motors than white motors. All new cars would have the orange motor. A quick look at Armchair and ALL Slot Its are shown to come with orange motor and that the white motor is no longer available being supercided by orange, red, yellow and green endbell V3 range of motors. Why have a class where old models are allowed to run faster but no longer available motors. Plus there is a grey area about whether the car originally came with or without the white endbell.

Limiting it to Orange - the factory standard means some older cars will need to be changed but allowing white endbells means ALL new cars would either be disadvantaged or require a motor swop with a motor which is similar to the no longer available white motor. Which would add $26.00 per unit cost increase.
Oh and you cant use the similar reving yellow endbell cos it has far more torque and would mean ALL Slots could be upgraded.

ORANGE ONLY
Its called moving with the times.

white end bell (25k) are quicker if they have the room to stretch their legs (MR) But on smaller more technical tracks both white and orange are pretty even. I don't really see the problem as long as there's not a massive straight the orange will keep up and probably beat the white. They are high torque motors and generate their power down low.

If you want a good comparison, put 2 cars with both types of motors on my track!

I think it will come down to car setup and driver ability to how they compare overall smile

Sorry was editing it whilst you were writing - I'm a bit slow today old boy

And I just checked lap times my two white endbell slot Its which are as bought - unsorted (one fitted with MJKs) are quicker than my three orange Slot Its which have been tested, sorted, raced. Even the standard tyred white endbell Jag I have is as quick as the MJK tyred cars

My white end bell Jag is a pig. Straight out of the box!
I have 4 slot.its and they're all slower than anyone else's here.
I'm not a real fan.

Yeah it's luck of the draw with some motors: my Hydro Aliminium Porsche has a white end bell and it's SLOW - remember Dick we raced it in the Slot It enduro last year together!

Then look at Moe's Nissan R390 - orange end bell and it is super fast - but decided to eat it's crown gear in round 1 and has been MIA since then

If you remember Round 1 - he was lapping cars until the dreaded sound of crown teeth grinding!

Yeah well I like my white endbell Jagermister porche, I reckon the Mclaren GTR with the orange endbell is quicker however.
