Can we get that date changed to 1977, got an XC Coupe I would like to get going.

Would model kits be allowed or would I have to get a resin body made from the kit to run it.
Would this also exclude the MJK cars as they have plastic bodies.

I would suggest that if resins are in then plastic 1/32 model kits are in , as long as we maintain the general rules in regards to chassis/windows/wheels and interiors. and the age/ era of the car fits the class

sax

just putting the finishing touches to my ford gt which sits straight over the mustang chassis - even used the mustang interior ( driver moved to the correct side for an Oz car)

Same wheel base - dead easy to do

I think in the voting we should have had another category. "review the class" . I actually don't support adding "scratch Built" cars of any type to any class. I have several of these resin bodies, as some would know, but the point of the exercise should be to keep the cars as close to what actually raced and to what is available from the manufacturer. This will ensure we continue to attract newbies who do not get intimidated by the fact that they may have to sit there and produce something, other than whats on the shelf. Note the variety is getting better, as scaley is putting out the chapparal camaro which adds to this already great class. If we allow scratchies it becomes a scrutineer minefield and as we know there are very few of us who can put one of these together and make it competitive. There would be a number of issues i see, height of the car, width, length etc et etc. As for other brands/models, I did not see the point of allowing the "modern" muscle cars race, to see chris racing his new mustang against the older cars it certainly looked out of place. we should dump carrera, they are not competitive.

Carrera not competitive, I got a 4th place in Round 5 using the Superbird and was less than a lap behind 3rd, leave them all in including the Galaxies.

I didn't vote for the modern muscle cars last year but after setting up the Mustang I would like to think it would get another run next year sometime, no date restriction.

My thoughts were to open it up to prevent it becoming a Camaro cup, I've stuggled with my Mustang all year, and wouldn't mind getting something else to run.
Chris's modern Mustang looked heaps better chassis-wise

Ford GTHO sitting on a standard Mustang Chassis ( the one I used last week)  - no mods needed apart from a bit of triming at the front

dont think it is a camaro cup. it is more about who drives what. we have had camaro/corvette and mustang winners. Steve mustang went really well last round and had the pace to win. give matt a mustabg and he would probably win with that as well.

Steve, Good job! ... is that a kelbfelp body? The front spoiler looks different....
Was there much to do to the chassis? I have one but have avoided building it as I'm unaware of a good chassis.

I would like to see more choice for bodies too. If a newbie wants to run, they don't have to scratchbuild a car, but it would be good to see some more variety from the guys who know how, then we can all be inspired to have a go when confident enough.

Nope not a Tassie body - its one of mine

Nope not a lot of work needed - just had to trim the front of the chassis a bit - all body mounts are the original as is the interior ( driver moved to the correct side) wheel track and wheel base is the same

Just a thought gents and please it is just thinking aloud would it be possible to say take a carrera muscle car strip it mechanically and replace the running gear with scalextric this way you could have a wider variety but with similar performance ie a carrera GT350 with scalextrix 18,000 motor rims etc I know it would cost more etc but I am really just thinking aloud
