How about shutting off the power to each lane after one lap before each race.

Been thinking the same thing - at the start you can lap as much as you like but after the space bar is press it cuts once you cross the line - might look at changing that so you HAVE TO elect to do lap after lap at the start rather than elect not to

This may sound silly, but....... would this work/make sense?
Instead of cutting power for "determined (by lap) time" in pitstop/refuel, when you pitted for fuel, your lap time would determine your fill rate?
In theory, track would remain live (but be an option to use standard power cut in pits) and the faster you lap the slower your refuel would be.
So you could "splash n dash" on the last lap to make it across the line etc

Splash and dashes get abused by drivers and just does not work. It was originally available but was removed
