I voted yes but changes would be welcomed - they are crap cars and we only race them cos they are a 'local' formula. If they were from any other country they wouldnt get a look in
These cars run ugly out of the box, and in my opinion need to modified , ie lowered ,chassis clearances and MJK's , then they start to perform ,this class should not be treated as an "entry" or "newbie" class, as it can be quite dishearting trying to be competetive with a pig of a car
No, why should we race a class that needs so much work just to make the car drivable when there are other more enjoyable classes we could be racing. The only way to run these cars is box stock with magnet on Scalextric track, then they work fine without modification.
Sorry to disagree but these cars run fine with weight, tyre true and MJK's. This as was evident in some of the races where the stock cars beat the lowered ones. The kids and I enjoy these very much at home but not for a V32 class.
I voted yes. Being the 'local' class should be a bonus!!! I have not got a lowered V8 (well I had 2, but both failed to perform. 1 broken motor mounts [? Brand new car]) but as Matt said, they need work to run smoothly and consisitently.
Chris asked: "why should we race a class that needs so much work just to make the car drivable"... Perhaps this could be a class where an introduction to mods is promoted? Any newbies would grab a V8 I reckon, and we've all got at least one, so ....
I have 4 V8s atm and would lower a few to learn a bit more... I obviously did it wrong the last two times!!!
i voted yes with all the mods i realy hate this talk of "newbies" most of the people that know about and would want to join the v32 are slot car races and if thay aren't we help them, why put restrictions on a class just in case someone with no experience wants to join the club, if everyone feels we must have some clases for "newbies" not v8's there are other cars that dont need many mods that would suit "newbies"
I vote YES to keep them and to allow mods as well, I have a few "modded" cars and a couple of stock ones and the difference in both handling and performance are noticeable.
Am more than happy to assist anyone with the "reworks" to their standard cars if required, just ask.
