I know the fly versions are costly ,and fragile but if we could make the scalextric (cheap atm $39 or less at some suppliers) versions more competitve the field would be more varied
No, the Flys are fragile and expensive, the scalextrics are nearly impossible to get apart and therefore hard to work on to make competitive. I ran a SCX but with the pro motor and Fly rear tyres cost nearly as much as a Fly March but at least it is still in one piece.
only tyres you can buy for them are Ortmanns, unless MJK have made them recently? MJK are half the price of Ortmanns and therefore more desirable, but Mark knows where to get Ortmanns at roughly $10 a pair?
