Complete list of cars 2009

So the Rules and Regs have been finalised.
Can we sign off on a list of available Makes and Models allowed for each class?

I can't find it if it's already been done.

Hi Guy's,

Classic 1950s and 60s GT type classic cars

Fly
Ferrari 250LM (coming soon)

Many cars raced in the 60's & 70's Sports Car class still ran in the 50's & 60's GT class, eg GT40's will they be allowed?
Don't care either way if we exclude some models or not, just to get the list right so know what to buy.

Regards
NimROD

The Ferrari 250LM was classified as a proptype by the FIA as Ferrari tryied pulling a shonky about numbers saying it was a rebodied 250GT SWB.  The FIA would have nothing to do with it as only 32 250LMs were built - the car belongs in with the classic Le mans as does the GT40

Any objections to adding the Carrera 60 Plymouth Fury and 57 Chev Bel Air to Muscle Cars, they looks great but might be a bit "old" looking for this class.

Also can we get committee approval of the list including adding the Fly Ferrari F40 to Group 5.

Not yet, besides I already have 4 resin cars to build for next year and we are only allowed to use one car per race unless you have a breakdown.

nimrod questioned the 250 LM being a classic, the response is correct in my view, but are we serious in allowing the 1960/70 alfa and ferrari into the slot it class. How does this work they are not even close for period style racing.

Also how does a Toyota GT1 make it into an LMP class. ???

do we have a good reason to include these cars or is it just because we have them ????

Having said that the classic class looks a beauty !!!!

Ferrari 250LM has been added to the 60/70 Sports cars and is not in the classic class.

Good question on the Alfa and Ferrari in the Slot it's, have these been included just because they are a Slot it and it is a Slot it class or should this be a Group C/Modern Le Mans Slot it class only and they are excluded.

At the moment as far as I am concerned this is still a proposed list made up from last years class list and cars mentioned in the various posts from this forum and hasn't been approved by the committee. If the Toyota GT1 doesn't belong then say why, I think it may have been added because it looks similar to the Peugeot 908 and would not look out of place.

The list as it stands apart from the following observations looks OK to me.

Exclusions that should be made from the list

Slot.it

ALFA ROMEO 33/3
FERRARI 312 PB
As mentioned this class should be Group C/Modern Le Mans Slot it only

Group 5
Ferrari F40
Too modern , cant find a reference having raced in Group 5

Muscle Car
60 Plymouth Fury
57 Chev Bel Air
Too Early ?

New cars not listed will not be allowed. Repaints or new liveries of cars already on the list are OK.

Steve, Shane could you please comment if agreed Can we have the list amended and locked.

Well I guess the question is: who wants the Alfa and Ferrari to be part of the Slot It class? Majority rules!

my vote = no

Hi Guy's,

I thought the Slot-It Ferrari and Alfa were excluded due to being sidewinders and NOT inline like the rest, is this still correct?

what happenned to the Ferrari f 50 from GT class. also why is the riley in this class?
The daytona cars should be in their own class.???

I don't think the F50 was ever in the GT class didn't even think of it. I only have the NC-1 version did they come with NC-2 or NC-5 in later liveries.

I put the Riley in to see if it would get through, the class list has been approved so I guess it is up to the committee to remove it.

When they stop making cars.

Only kidding, the 412P was released last year so should have been on the list and the F50 was missed but should be in this class, I don't think it was on last years list, maybe why I forgot it.

I never said this was a complete list and there may be other cars that have been missed that will need to be added.

Also where do we stand on cars released during the year that are not currently on the list. Keeping in mind that some of the cars already on the list have not been released yet.

My opinion: if new cars are released and they fit in the class, they should be allowed. I doubt any of us are going to stop buying cars just because no more cars are eligible for classes confuse

Only a fool would believe an addicted slot head would stop buying cars...especially you Shane!!

Might of been my misunderstanding but I was under the impression this list was defined as to know what was allowable in each class at the start of the season. New liveries of existing cars, no probs as its a no brainer. Totally new cars?

I guess it's going to be class specific, Slot It, just has to fir the rules (inline etc) and 997's are easy. Will have to take it as cars come I spose?

Hmm, I was under the impression that the list of cars as finalised before the start of the 09 season was the list of allowable cars.

If cars that fit in the class are released throughout the year, they were to be allowed next year if running that same class.

But if the commitee want to allow them, I guess Steve will be happy with yet another poll?????

I'm in it for the fun, so... 6 of one, half a dozen of the other to me.

New cars should be allowed, where they are esentially the same. ie the new  ninco lotus,  sorry different motor,  the new corvette GT,  yes  it will have a NC5 .
The classic corvette has a NC5 and i think you should be able to convert to a NC1/8.  This will add variety above all the jaguars being raced. 9 and is consistent with cobra treatment)
we just need to be careful thats all.
