Scratch built Sports Sedan

based on regs similar but simplified as used in the 2008 proxy race.
Cars are to be built based of production manufactured chassis from sellected makers ( Ninco, Scalextric SCX)
Simple rules to include:
Max width

free wheels, gears

Could the HRS chassis be the basis here?

I reckon a test n tune night would be needed as I for one have not modified a body to make anything as wild as what I've seen out there!(putty etc)
Just lowered a V8.

What other chassis' were you thinging of Steve?

If this class doesn't get up on its own what about inclusion in the Group 5 class which is basically RTR cars with flared guards and wings which gives an option for those who can't/don't want to make a scratch built body. Restrict to 18K motor as in Group 5 class. Will also allow mods to RTR cars like better wheels, gears etc.

No HRS chassis's

not real keen. Even though i love my scratchies, i think this class is heavly weighted in favour of those who can. Leave this class to the proxy races. Perhaps we even have our own proxy class. But not as part of a championship.

Perhaps Sports sedan is the wrong thing to call it

Id be looking at a class where the bodies are free to play with but the running gear is limited

To me, the aim is always look to have close racing brought about by having easy access to cars which need just a little bit of tinkering to make work.

Even V8s take far more work than I actual care for.

Now - if someone was to say V8s on a MB chassis or the like then I'd be real happy cos its less work to make them work (s**t engrish again)

they fit better on a plafit as you can also grind the wheel rims down and stick them in the plafit rims so they look good

Add Sport Sedans to Group 5, those who can't build one (I can give anyone a hand if they want to build one though) can race a Group 5, those that can build one can.
