I voted to be able to chnge to metal (slot it) gearing as my M1 stripped the spur and they are impossible to buy new!

Thats the problem I am having with the plastic hubs for my Nincos - Ged was charging $13.00 for two hence I bought the SCX alloy ones for $7.00

He had a set of the Ninco alloys (4 rims) and an alloy anglewinder gear for $60.00 - no wonder they were dusty

Even the SCX pro gears were up from $6.00 when I was last there to $9.00 this timecry

I voted for Other plastic gears, (my fear, it could be unfounded is the metal gears giving too much of an advantage) I just want everyone to be on a level playing field, and not start a 'parts' escalation war.

Thats why I brought it out cos gears means money spent whilst alloy wheels means money saved (in the long run that is)

i only agree to swap for metal gears if we specify the type. eg for Fly classics you must use a slot it (red gear) for example. this way every one has the same equipment. Having said that all spare parts are readily available ( armchair). We should specify very clearly what brand can be used and when. this makes for better control
Can someone tell me why a metal gear goes better than plastic? does it have something to do with friction?? why should it make a difference???

It (the gears) would have to be limited as no one wants to go getting FASS or Konford stuff - good though they are - they are also performance enhancing.

Personally I dont want to see Metal Gears as to me it is definately an expense adder. If Scaley and FLY can be interchanged then the issue goes away.

At the most radical Slot IT allowed but as the Nomadic Beast said limited to a colour/type - quick to check
