Guys we need to put together a list of cars for nomination for the LMP class, Ive quickly listed some of the cars I think are available could you please add or subtract anything not eligable for this class. Also if your able to provide info on motors and gearign it would be appreciated.
Apparently there are 2 LMP classes..LM'P1 & LM'P2. Now that opens a can of worm's.

In the real world the main difference between LMP1 and LMP2 is the weight of the cars and the engine displacement. Hardly worth worrying about in the slot car world.
We stated LMP and for the sake of the class its hardly worth distinguishing between 1 & 2 as it will kill choice of car immediately. and if we do this what do we do with the American Le Mans Series cars? As said lets try and keep it simple for the slot car world.

I see no reason what ever to worry about motors at all in this one class. it would be really good to not have to worry about parity based on a non systematic test and is based more on heresay or just reading off packaging cos of this or that and would be good to have a class was allowed to be released from uninforcable regs like 'only 18k motors' which means advocating motor changes.
as for being just lmp well thats not the concept, its lmp/modern le mans
It certainly was the concept when I originally nominated the class, not fussed however. Im happy to not worry about parity here as they are prototypes, I think we will see some weapons evolve out of this over time.
If we open up the motor regs for this class only ,it should be OK , I really think that for the majority of the the tracks proposed fro next year ,anything more than 21k will be to much anyway.
